How to Enroll Users in Content and Learning Paths

Where to Start
The LMS provides multiple methods of assigning content to users. One of these methods for team admins is to assign content through the Learning Navigator.
What's the Learning Navigator? The Learning Navigator is a convenient place for team admins to view all learning content assigned to your training organization and assign content to multiple uses at once.
Your organization will typically have a folder for Central Course Library and Custom Courses. However, to view all content created within your organization, click on your organization's parent folder.
As a team admin, you will typically use Learning Paths to assign content to users.
What is a Learning Path? Learning Paths are the most efficient way to assign a series of courses to a learner. Enrollment in a learning path enrolls the learner in all the required courses within the learning path at once. You can also control the order of the courses and use additional features, such as prerequisites.
Step-by-Step: Assigning Learning Paths to User Groups
To assign Learning Paths from the Learning Navigator:
- Select the Learning Path by clicking on the Learning Paths Tab
- Set the Targeting in the Targeting Tab to identify the type of enrollment:
- Mandatory Enrollment: Learners are directly enrolled in the learning path and cannot unenroll. The learning path will appear on their Home screen and require completion.
- Self Enrollment: Learners have the option to enroll in the learning path from the catalog, with the flexibility to unenroll at any time.
- Enroll the Users. You have the option to add individual users, the whole organization, or user groups.
- The benefit of adding a user group to the learning path is that any future users added to the user group will automatically be assigned this training!
- Click on Add User Group and utilize the search icon to select your groups and Save.
- Review Enrollments in the Enrollments tab. You can see the number of enrollments here, but to view details of each user enrolled, click on Search. A list of all users enrolled in the learning path will appear, showing their current status within the learning path.
Assigning Content Folders
Another method of assigning content from the Learning Navigator is to use the Content Folders.
Why use a Content Folder? With this method, you can assign all content in the folder to users at once, and then content added to the folder in the future will automatically be assigned to the users enrolled.
To assign a Content Folder:
- Click on the arrow next to your organization's parent folder to expand its learning content.
- Click on the arrow next to the Custom Content folder to view all content created within your organization.
- To assign content from one of these folders,
- Select the content folder
- Set your Targeting
- Add Users
Now all users assigned to the content folder will be assigned any new courses added to the content folder in the future!
